All economic development activities for the City are handled by the Development Corporation of Richmond. The Development Corporation of Richmond (the "Corporation") was created by the City under the Texas Development Corporation Act of 1979 for the purpose of promoting, assisting, and enhancing economic and development activities on behalf of the City. The Corporation is TYPE 4B development corporation. The Corporation is made of seven voting board members and an executive director. The Board of Directors is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the City Commission.
