Mission
It is the purpose of the Wastewater Team of the City of Richmond Public Works to provide the highest level of sanitary sewer service (collection through treatment) for the citizens of Richmond; thereby affording a desirable standard of living in addition to protecting the water environment.
Department Description
The Wastewater Department is responsible for the comprehensive management of both collection and treatment of the City's wasterwater generation.
Currently the Wastewater Department operates the Richmond Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, along with 16 lift stations throught the collection system. The department recently updated and expanded the Richmond Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, increasing capacity and is now permitted to treat 3 million gallons per day by the State of Texas with room to add on if needed in the future.
The Wastewater Department's current daily treatment average is 1.5 million gallons per day. The department currently has 10 employees with an annual budged of approximately $1.2 million.
